Junior Leader Program ⋆
Ages: 13-15
Location: Orangevale Community Center
Join us this summer as a Junior Recreation Leader! This program is open to youth ages 13-15, (or entering 7th-9th grade) and offers valuable hands-on experience learning the responsibilities of a summer day camp leader.
Junior Rec Leaders volunteer with our Rec’ing Crew summer day camp programs, and work alongside our current camp leaders.
Program Dates
- Camp sessions: June 22 – August 7
- Schedule: 2–4 days per week
- Shifts: Approx. 3 hours per day (Typical shifts are 9am-12pm, 11am-2pm, 1pm-4pm)
Training Requirement
- All Junior Rec Leaders must attend mandatory training dates:
- June 12 (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
- June 13 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Important Notes
- Jr Rec Leaders pay a registration fee to participate in this volunteer program focused on leadership training.
- The registration fee covers training materials, a Junior Rec Leader T-shirt, and field trip fees (when applicable).
- Jr. Rec Leaders do not receive financial compensation for their time but will learn valuable skills and earn community service hours.
- Based on performance and programming needs, volunteers may be invited to assist with one or more camp field trips.
